Serçe Bay and Bozukkale (Loryma )

We will set sail for Serçe Bay. A Byzantine shipwreck from the 11th century, exhibited in the Bodrum Museum, was found here. The night will be spent in Bozukkale. In the ancient city of Bozukkale (Loryma), a castle stretches out in a rectangle with its city walls and nine temples. The name Bozukkale means 'crooked castle' and might be associated with missing one side of the castle. Because of its geographical situation and the narrow port entrance, the port was also used by the Greek naval forces during the Peloponnese Sea Battle. Karor, the Commander of Athens, gathered all his ships before the Cnidus War in 395 B.C., and Demetrius, the son of Antigonos, used this port for preparations before attacking Rhodes in 305 B.C.

Boarding starts at 15:30 from Marmaris Harbour. Guests who arrive early may leave their luggage at the EXclusive Gulets Office. Our boat will be anchored in Marmaris Harbour for dinner and overnight stay on the first day. Marmaris, built upon the antique Caria city; Physkos has been under the governorship of many different civilizations. The most valuable workpiece that you will see today is Marmaris Castle dating from 1577. There is also a mosque and an 8-room Karavansary covered with arches from the Ottoman Period. The ruins of the Antique times lie on Asar Hill, a small hill located on the northern side of the city. Being one of the best-known tourist places in Turkey, Marmaris also has a large marina.


After breakfast, we will hoist sail and cruise to Datça. The city was founded by the Dors, who came from the Aegean Sea to the southern coast of Ionia in the 7th century B.C. The island has no humidity and fresh air with plenty of oxygen. The historian Strabo has a rightful saying about Datça's weather: "God would send his beloved servants to Datça to live longer." According to a myth, while the Spanish pirates were passing by the coast of Datca, they disembarked people with Hansen's disease in Sarıliman Bay. These abandoned people recovered from their illnesses with the help of the clean weather of Datça. You can explore Datça yourself or join the optional Cnidus tour. We will anchor in Datça or at a nearby bay for dinner and an overnight stay.

Aktur and Bencik

After breakfast, we will cruise to Aktur Bay. Then our first stop will be Bencik Bay, which has a very narrow entrance but a unique view once you get inside. Bencik is located at the narrowest part of the peninsula that divides Hisarönü Gulf from the Gökova Gulf, but it is situated on Hisarönü side. In the 550s B.C., the Cnidus people wanted to dig a tunnel in the narrowest land piece of the peninsula between the Hisarönü Gulf and the Gökova Gulf as a defence line against the Persians. That way, they would make two peninsulas, one island, and the defence easier. They started with diligence and put in a lot of effort; however, in the end, they could not manage, and the Persians conquered the city. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Bencik Bay.

Orhaniye and Selimiye

Today, we will be sailing into the Hisarönü Gulf. For lunch, we will dock in Orhaniye. In Orhaniye Bay, you will see the unique scenery of a natural tidal formation called 'kız Kumu (Maiden's Beach). Many myths exist about this reddish sand path going from shore to the inner parts of the sea. On a tiny island located in the bay, you can see the wrecks of an antique castle, a sign of an ancient city. Today, our next destination will be Selimiye for dinner and overnight stay.

Orhaniye is a secluded bay located on the southwest coast of Turkey, known for its pristine waters and stunning natural beauty. The bay is surrounded by beautiful pine forests, and there are plenty of secluded beaches and coves to explore.

Dirsekbükü and Bozburun

After anchoring in Dirsekbükü, we will go to Bozburun, a small fishing town. This area was popular and suitable for sponge diving, but nowadays, the island's people are no longer interested in it as it is not financially beneficial and dangerous. In recent years, gulet tourism has replaced sponge diving.

Arap Island, Kadirga, and Marmaris

Today, we start cruising early in the morning to Arap Island. Lunch will be served in Kadırga Bay. After a swimming break, we return to Marmaris Port at about 16:00 to have dinner and an overnight stay.

Palamutbuku is reputed to have the best beaches in the Datca peninsula. The beaches are small but very beautiful. Surrounded by mountains and spotted with gardens, these beaches are known for their tranquillity and fresh sea air, presenting the perfect backdrop for a rejuvenating getaway. 

Palamutbuku is located at the end of the peninsula and is also famed for the remains of the historic city of Knidos. The waters here are crystal clear, so much so that it is believed that if you take a needle at the very bottom of the sea, you can still see it!

Witness the world's oxygen tank at Aktur! Spotted with pine trees, it is a slice of paradise. Aktur consists of two units, namely Datca and Kurucabuk, located at a distance of 4 km from each other. The Hisaronu bay is located very close to the narrowest strip of the Datca peninsula and separates the Gulf of Gokova from the Gulf of Hisaronu. 

Just across the bay from Selimiye, Bencik offers a quiet and protected anchorage in amongst a pine forest. Bencik Bay has a very narrow entrance but a unique view once you get inside. Bencik is located at the narrowest part of the peninsula that divides Hisaronu Gulf from the Gokova, but it is located on Hisaronu's side.

Bozburun is renowned for the thriving sponge business and gulet yacht construction industry. Some of the best wood and craftsmen for building strong and beautiful gullet boats are to be found in this region, which is why leading names in the business employ Bozburun’s boat makers. 

Dirsekbuku is located between the Gulf of the Aegean Sea and the Gulf of Hisaronu. Many tourists travel from Bodrum to Marmaris and stop here for rest, which is why this region has several sheltered bays.

Arap Island - Kadirga Bay - Marmaris

Kadirga Bay has been honoured with the blue flag for its marvellous sea. Kadirga Bay has already been a tourist place for many years. Marmaris is a port city and a tourist resort on the Mediterranean coast, located in southwest Turkey, in Mugla Province. Marmaris is a heavenly corner where you can see all grades and harmonies of green and blue during the twelve months of the year. Marmaris is one of the most elegant yachting resorts in Turkey. A point to meet the most beautiful boats. Ultramarine blue sea, mountains and pinewoods sketch the landscape. Many choices of shops, cafes, and restaurants are to be found along the town's narrow streets.

Bozukkale (Loryma) is an ancient city that dates back to 10 BC. The castle walls have nine towers extending in a mutually rectangular pattern. The castle and towers are very well preserved and appear in a solid state. Bozukkale served as a bay cruise stretch for British naval ships and is now considered a shipyard on the shore.

Serce is where the Blue Cruise boat moor. The place offers a brilliant image of the bottom of the harbour and is well protected from the harshest weather conditions. Underwater surveys and excavations have led to many discoveries, including centuries-old glassware, now kept in the Bodrum Underwater Museum.

Day 2: Rhodes

Early morning departure for Rhodes. Arrive into the Colonna harbour, Rhodes, just prior to breakfast. The walls of the medieval Crusader are visible from the harbour and will beckon all to visit the “old town” for shopping or sightseeing. One of the highlights of any visit to Rhodes’ old town is a quiet walk down the “Avenue of the Knights,” a cobblestone street that has been traversed since the time of the Crusaders. If you wish to do a thorough exploration of Rhodes’ old city, it is recommended that you tour in the company of an English-speaking guide, a local who has a wealth of information to share. Dine ashore in a colorful Greek taverna, then set out to see the town of Rhodes by night.

Day 8: Marmaris

Day 5: Bozburun - Bozukkale - Serce

Sail back east to Bozburun to visit a Turkish coastal town, which is home to some very friendly folk with rural backgrounds. Bozburun was once an important sponge-fishing centre, but is now better known as a centre for boat building. There is a small selection of shops here and some small cafes and restaurants. Return to Bozukkale for a chance to see the ruins of ancient Loryma, and continue to Serce, the overnight stop and site of one of the most important underwater excavations ever carried out: the excavation of the “Glass Wreck” – the artifacts recovered during this work are now displayed in the Bodrum Museum of Underwater Archaeology.

Day 4: Datca - Palamut Buku

Re-entering Turkey in the port of Datça, just a short sail from Symi, it is possible to take an overland tour to “The Olive Farm” and visit “Old Datca” with its winding cobblestone streets and quaint stone houses. Perhaps enjoy some freshly made lemonade in one of the shady cafes before returning to the harbour. In the afternoon, sail down to the ancient harbour of Knidos for some excellent sightseeing amongst the magnificent ruins of this most famous of ancient cities. Overnight in a nearby bay, perhaps “Palamut Buku,” with dinner ashore or onboard.

Day 6: Ekincik Bay

Cross to Ekincik Bay in the morning and spend a day at leisure in these most beautiful bays, where thick pine forest tumbles down steep slopes to the water’s edge, and time seems to slow right down. Go ashore to “My Marina Restaurant” before sunset and have a meal overlooking the waters of the Mediterranean. It is a unique setting, and the view is magnificent!

DAy 3: Symi

A late afternoon approach is one of the most beautiful sights imaginable. Cross from Rhodes to the island of Symi and anchor in one of the many beautiful and remote bays on the eastern side of the island, perhaps Aghios Georghios Dhysalonas Bay. On the late afternoon, move on around going to Symi harbour. Once the yacht is moored on the town quay, go ashore to take the sights and sounds of this delightful small harbour. Symi Harbour’s waterfront is adorned with 19th-century neo-Classical buildings, and many fine examples of this type of architecture can be found nestled in the folds of hills surrounding the port. It goes without saying that this is a wonderful place for a memorable night out in Greece!

Day 7: Caunos - Dalyan

Board a small riverboat for a tour of ancient Caunos and Dalyan. The riverboat travels at a leisurely pace, making its way inland along the reed-lined channels of the Dalyan River delta. As the area is under environmental protection, you will likely see various wildlife, including turtles, herons, and kingfishers. Afterward, board the riverboat again for the short ride upriver to Dalyan town. Mid-journey, the boat passes beneath some impressive Lycian rock tombs. Return to the yacht in Ekincik and set sail for Kumlu Buku. Overnight in Kumlu Buku, with dinner, either ashore at the Kumlu Buku Yacht Club or onboard your yacht

Day 1: Marmaris - Kardiga Bay

Embark in Marmaris and set sail for Kadirga Bay, a beautiful bay with clear blue waters, perfect for snorkeling and swimming. Later in the day, settle down to read a book or take a nap in the gentle afternoon sun as your yacht makes its way further down the coast and into the landlocked harbour of Bozukkale. Anchor beneath the walls of an ancient citadel and enjoy dinner ashore in a rustic bayside setting, or onboard, under the stars.
